Founded in 1939 at the request of Monsignor Dan A. Lanning, the Society of Martha Washington was established to support and enhance the Washington’s Birthday Celebration in Laredo. From its beginning, the Society has honored the legacy of Martha Washington while promoting patriotism and an appreciation for American history. Through cultural traditions, scholarships, and community initiatives, the Society continues to inspire civic pride and preserve its legacy for future generations.

The Society of Martha Washington is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the Washington’s Birthday Celebration while promoting patriotism, historical education, and civic pride in the Laredo community. Through cultural events, educational initiatives, and community involvement, the Society continues to honor history, inspire leadership, and strengthen the values that unite generations.
